A local arborist for work close to homes
Trees growing close to a house, driveway, garden, utility line or neighboring property need a plan that accounts for more than the cut itself. Owen evaluates the tree and surrounding space, discusses the homeowner's priorities and chooses an approach designed to keep each piece controlled.
That may mean climbing instead of relying on large equipment, rigging sections down in a tight area or pruning selected limbs to improve clearance while preserving the tree. Black Dog handles difficult removals, house clearance, line clearance, ornamental pruning and aerial tree work in the same straightforward, careful way.
- Tree removal in tight spaces

- View cuts and selective vista work
- Thoughtful cleanup at the end of the job
View cuts without losing the character of the property
A coastal view can often be improved without removing every tree in sight. Selective pruning and view cuts focus on the limbs or trees that block the desired sightline while considering tree health, future growth and the privacy or screening the homeowner wants to keep.
Because every view and stand of trees is different, the best first step is to walk the property and identify what you want to see, what you want to preserve and where the important viewing points are. Owen can then explain what is practical and how the work can be staged.
